In Romeo’s Ghost’s Clutch

  In Romeo’s Ghost’s Clutch

I slept in you without your knowledge.  You

Were sleeping in my arms and I slept in

Your brain and yet because my eyes are blue

Your mind did not hold on to me.  No sin

Arose, at least not in your sleeping soul.

I cannot promise that no sin in me

Occurred.  Of course this was because the whole

Of me absorbed you.  Large as Ocean Sea

Columbus crossed is where your meaning hid.

Because that mystery lies there, waking I

Am doomed to find it never.  Deep love slid

To underwater caverns lurking sly.

I dreamed inside you and you did not know.

I only grasp that it will never go.
