We almost never want the notes in scales.
We want the melodies. We want the lilts
And rhythms. We want music that gives trails
To memories and love, a phrase that tilts
To never ending loss because that debt
Is ours. We do not want a coda tacked
By son of father Bach. A lover’s threat
Is what we want in chords. A lover’s act,
Concerto in its force with us, is what
We always want. A little interlude
Will never do, a minuet, gavotte
And priss. We call for tenors to collude.
Nine symphonies or operas are our goal.
We want romance’s compositions whole.
