How Men Feel about Women
Modern poetry modern verse contemporary poetry contemporary verse modern poem contemporary poem
We feel that they are hostesses. That’s best.
That’s how they are at best. They have long hair
(At best) but short will do. We like the breast
The most when looking at their shape, that pair
And hips, as welcome. They (the women, and
Their breasts, and hips) are what most manly eyes
Prefer. The unseen part, the slickened gland
Beneath those breasts, that gland between the thighs
Waits, keen. We want to pierce it, deep. Their thought
(If spoken or unspoken) still remains
As hidden as a goddess. It is nought
To us. At best it speaks like divine stains.
..Yet when a woman sings, she pierces us.
….That brings out all the best—and all our pus.
